Who is me

Cheng is me, so I got this domain. I’m a Ph.D Candidate in Electronic Microscopy Laboratory , Department of Materials Science & Engineering, Tsinghua University. My “research” is supposed to be “ab initio” simulations of materials. You may think think that’s “to use big computers to simulate atoms”. No one knows whether the results are correct or just meaningless because no one can really measure that small things. Of coz I’m not really enjoying this. But I actually ARE writing papers and trying to gain a Ph.D Degree for this.

There is some other information I’d like to share:

I’m male and 26 yrs old. Though my illustrations looks simple and somewhat “cute”. I’m living in (of coz) Beijing now, and my hometown is Chifeng, Inner Mongol. I tried hard every time to explain that I’m not a Mongolian and I don’t ride horses nor live in Mongolian tents (Yurt). Chifeng is just like any other small city in elsewhere. But I do see large grasslands and lovin them.

What I Like

I like to design things and do a little programming. And I have no resistance for electronic toys like iPods, digital cameras, Macbooks. In my spare time, I like to read books with pictures, watching movies ( mostly American or straightforward Hollywood ones), enjoying delicious foods, and jogging.

About My Design

404Most of my illustrations are made in Adobe Illustrator. I use the big WACOM to edit vector anchors (not drawing directly). I feel more freedom in the vector world and my hand drawing is not good enough to mention.

The theme of this site is totally designed and coded in my own hands, and it is my FIRST wordpress theme. It takes me about a whole busy month, from sketch to making necessary illustrations, then div+css mockups and PHP codes as well as some Jquery animation spicy. So I feel really relaxed when I come here finally. I hope you will like my site.
