Hi everyone, I feel very guilty that I didn’t update my blog recently.
I’ve been writing (and editing) two articles for my Ph.D. research, and it was a very tricky and tiring job for me. Please send me some comfort.

And I was asked to make some edit for the logo design for my department — Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Last time I designed something matching the logo of Tsinghua University, but they said they need to something different with that. That’s OK for me, because that really give me much limits.

最近一直没有更新这里，实在是很有些负罪感。
前几天在修改我投的两篇文章，又要改英语又要走各种各样的流程，忙得身心俱疲。

我们系这个Logo的征集从上个学期就开始了，原来我做的一个和校徽比较接近的，但是老师们居然是不喜欢和那个太接近。居然有人拿我之前做的东西改了改，在投票的时候第一，只好一笑了之吧。既然没有那个限制，反正对我没有太大的影响。

Diamond is a most perfect “material” and I like the symmetries. Personally I like this design best, but it’s too specific to diamonds and looks a little “jewelry”.

This rainbow design is very simple and no much specific meaning. I design this in respiration of SpoonGraphics’s wavy rainbow. There is little information here, so basically it’s suitable for any “M”-initialed uses.

It’s perfect for the meaning for “materials” (M), “science” (atomic orbitals) and “engineering” (gears). But many people including myself think it’s too familiar with the old CCTV logo

So it’s a modified version of last one, but it lost the symmetry and I don’t like it much. Anyway, it no longer looks like the old one.
